"And we love to wash the polished-cement floor clean to give her a wide canvas." One hot day, as Prajna's "dream of a home in the lap of nature" took shape, Chowdhury took this shot. John Seamons Ely, England "I wanted to portray the beauty and strangeness of this slipper orchid," says Seamons, 32. In his home studio he clamped the flower upside down, concealed its stem, and used a white LED to illuminate his subject. It "glowed with an eerie light," he says, and looked "a bit like a Chinese lantern."
