SALMON ATTEMPTING TO SURMOUNT THE CAZADERO DAM (SEE PAGE 500) :'FISH 25FEET FROM CAMERA The leaping salmon are hard to photograph. The water reflects a great deal of light and the fish verylittle. One may take agood picture of either the water or the fish, but to get both on the same negative is the difficulty. I have purposely forgotten hew many rolls offilm Ispoiled before I got good pictures, but they were not a few, and with each attempt at fish photography I always expected and usually got athorough soak ing from the icy spray of the falls and a hardotumble or two on the slippery rocks.
