Dawn routs the dark in a re markable photograph made from an Air Force nose cone 630 miles above the earth. The camera, looking north near Puerto Rico, caught glimpses of the Atlantic and several types of clouds. Tumbling in space, an Atlas booster section trails the nose cone it launched. Cameras in the payload made this and the cloud picture above during a 5,000-mile flight from Cape Ca naveral. White spots are stars. Frost sheathes the booster's waist-an oddity in moisture less space. 723
