Just beyond, a fezzed, pantalooned figure identifies a cafe. It reminds us that in 1683 defeated Turkish invaders, by abandoning stores of coffee beans, introduced the drink into Austria. Mozart left Salzburg as a boy; he died impoverished in Vienna at 35 (page 788).
