615 National Geographic Photographer Howell Walker Summer Training in Field Tactics Bridges a Gap in the Academic Year This cadet team races against time to assemble a 216-foot bridge on Popolopen Lake. Starting with 18 pontoon sections stacked on the beach, the men completed the job in 6 minutes and 35 seconds. Another group bettered this record in 5 minutes and 13 seconds.
