Photograph by Maynard Owen Williams Are They Thatch-covered Praus or Piles of Bamboo? Neither: Toradja Homes and Granaries Shaped like long boats under tarpaulins, the houses seem to be shored up ready for launching. Split-bambooroofs are sothick they resemble lumber piles. The Toradjas are neat and not unfriendly, despite their former reputation as head-hunters.
