Although only of medium size, the Siberian Husky isone ofthe fastest of sledge dogs. Thus hehas become the racer of the family, and the classic All-Alaska Sweepstakes of 408 miles has been won several times bythese fleet and enduring dogs. The Samoyede, of long lineage and handsome white or creamy coat, has been much used by Russian explorers and serves as a herder ofsledge reindeer on the Siberian tundra.
