These towers and walls of Rumeli Hissar were built by Mohammed II in 1452, after which he took Constantinople (now stanbul), thecapital of the Roman Empire in the East. One big gun, hauled by 50 oxen, was used by the Turks to fire giant solid shotatships inthestrait.
