At 40 miles anhour itis128 feet; and at60miles anhour you'll travel 254 feet before you can stop. The National Safety Council isthe authority for these figures. How can you help avoid accidents? It's only sensible to adjust your driving toadverse weather and road conditions. Be prepared for emergencies such asblow outs orsudden skids, and know what todo when they occur.
