The stone ofthe tomb itself, dedicated in 1897, is of Maine granite. Beyond the tomb, partly concealed by trees, stands the Claremont, astructure dating from Revolu tionary days. From it Viscount Courtney viewed the trial run of Fulton's first steamboat in 1807.
