The zealot believes that every time the wheel is turned a prayer automatically goes up to Buddha in his behalf. Prayer wheels sometimes are fixed in a small stream so that the current will keep them in constant motion. A caravan usually carries a prayer flag on the leading camel; thus, when the wind blows, a prayer is automatically given.
