The Apex Building oftheFederal Triangle, the huge wedge of masonry at the right between Constitution and Pennsylvania Avenues, is now under construction(page 679). The Mellon collection ofpriceless works of art, presented to the Nation, will be housed in a magnificent new building to be erected on the spacious site just totheleft oftheTriangle's apex, onthesame side of Constitution Avenue as the National Museum (with the dome). Low, temporary wooden buildings near by onboth sides oftheMall will beeliminated.
