rnotograpn (ctiobart V.Koberts "FOLLOW THE LEADER"-A LOONY PARADE Two baby loons in their brownish-black down swim trustingly in the wake of their handsome parent on South Lake inthe Adirondacks. They were hatched only about two days before in their nest in a beaver meadow. Come too close and the youngsters dive, swimming under water asbest they can, while theparent flops about as if in distress to lure the intruder away. This is a daytime picture, though taken by flashlight. A characteristic sound oftheAdirondacks istheweird haunting cry of a loon, like utterly brainless laughter.
