He and hiskind frequent marshes and riverside jungles in Brazil and northern Argentina. Much smaller is the Pampas Deer (right), which lives on the dry, grassy plains and travels inherds. Expert gauchos sometimes capture these swift creatures with their lassos or weighted bolas.
