STATUES SURMOUNT THE MAUSOLEUMS OF RECOLETA CEMETERY Peculiarly Argentine is this burial ground in Palermo Park, where bodies lie in tiers (page 564). They are encased in leaden shells, placed within coffins of carved wood, and these in turn repose on shelves in the stone memorials.
