ADULT NEGRITO WOMAN, SHOWING RELATIVE SIZE. No. I8. -The Negritos are physical and mental weaklings, and are rapidly disap pearing. They are found in the interior of all the larger islands, and are generally supposed to have been the first inhabitants of the islands, having come from New Guinea. They hide in the mountain forests, where they were driven by later in vaders. There are about 30,000 of them left. They live on the fruits and tubers which they find in the forest, and like the pigmies of Africa kill their game with poisoned arrows.
