The glaciers of Alaska are the largest in the world, excepting, of course, the polar regions, and for beauty and grandeur are unsurpassed. The National Geographic Society's investigations have developed many inter esting facts. Some of the glaciers are advancing and others retreating, and each of them seems to have an individuality of its own. Members of the National Geographic Society will find that the volume, though mainly technical, contains much of popular interest. It is bound in cloth, size 8 x 10 inches,, contains S485 pages of text, 238 illustrations and diagrams, and eight colored maps. Copies will be sent prepaid to members of the Society in the United States for $5 per volume; abroad (in Postal Union), $5.50. As the edition is limited, members desiring the volume are urged to send in their reser vation at once on the blank form printed below.
