THE SUPERVISION OF THE SANITATION OF THE COUNTRY ROUND ABOUT FORT LEAVENWORTIIINVOLVED FIGHTING AVERY SEVERE TYPHOID EPIDEMIC Over 200 cases occurred in Leavenworth city and county during the spring and summer. One week inAugust 26cases were reported inthe city of Leavenworth alone. This long line of high-school boys and girls are waiting to receive their vaccination against typhoid fever. The U. S. Public Health Service undertook the free administration of vaccine to all applicants. Local physiciansvolunteered inthe work. Over 4,000 per sons were vaccinated in this way during the last week in August and the first two weeks in September.
