The roof isbrilliantly decorated with inlaid mirrors and painted wooden designs. The hall, or throne room, contains large mural scenes depicting the Shah and his courtiers. The author's one disap pointment was that he saw only 20 pillars. "Oh," said his Persian friend, "you have not counted all. Look also inthe pool!"
