The girls fled to a large rock, which began to grow. As the bears climbed in pursuit, the walls rose higher and higher, until at last the beasts fell to their death, while the maidens eventually perished from hunger, being unable to descend the cliff-like walls. The marks of the bears' claws can be seen to this day on the tower ! It has been set aside as a national monument.
