When thecliff came tooclose for comfort, the aviators took to the sea, flying at about i,ooo feet elevation. Despite the danger, which seemed imminent, ofbeing lost intherain and clouds, the airmen were compelled to admire the beauty of the scenery-numerous waterfalls breakingupon thecliffs, with here and there smooth, narrow valleys, small farms, and villages. A forced landing here would have been desperate, indeed.
