The Peninsula ofSkatudden divides itinto two parts; that known as the Sodra Hamnen (South Harbor) is shown in the illustration. The Emperor Nicholas Church (see also page 609) isseen inthe central background, and in the distance appears the tower of a church in the suburb of Berghall (see page 607). The city edges the harbor inalmost a semicircle and its finest buildings are set on heights.
