The islet just beyond is occupied byan exclusive restaurant, and farther on, in the same line, is the House of Parliament (see page 405), with the Royal Palace to the right. Beyond isthe square tower ofStorkyrkan, the city's oldest church, dating from 126o. Conspicuous at the right is the 295-foot open-work iron spire of theRiddarholm Church (see, also, page 404), modestly suggesting the soaring spire of the Rouer Cathedral, the loftiest in France. Surrounding this church are numerous Government office buildings.
