Zumbro ASADHVI Sadhvi is the name given toafemale ascetic. These, though rare among the Hindus, are common enough among the Jains. This is curious, in view of the fact that among the Jains the members ofone sect totally deny the possibility ofawoman attaining salvation. The followers of another sect,however, admit that such athing iswithin the bounds of possibility, and natural itistothis sect that the women ascetics give their adhesion.
