Swarthmore, founded byQuakers, takes its name from Swarthmoor Hall, near Ulverston, England, which was the home of Margaret Fell, the wife of George Fox who founded theSociety ofFriends. Inthecenter of the picture rises the tower of Clothier Memorial Hall, with Parrish Hall, the main building of the college, just beyondit,and agroup ofScience and Engineering build ings near the athletic fields.
