The River Cam, oddly enough, is named for the town. Cambridge has a special interest for Americans. Alumni who came tothe New World as colonists christened Cambridge, Massachusetts, in honor of their alma mater; and our oldest university was namedfor aCambridge graduate, John Harvard.
