Y. A band ofthem explored the"great unknown" inAugust, 1935, when a keeper, after feeding time, forgot to pull up a plank placed over the moat which confines them. They scampered across and roamed main highways and tree tops for several days. Virtually all were recaptured, although a few succumbed to automobile injuries and effects of experiments with thethird rail ofarailroad.
