JERUSALEM IN A WINTER STORM The great dome, which stands out so prominently, is that of the Mosque of Omar, which covers thesite ofthethreshing floor ofOman, the Jebusite. (See also page 305.) This is one of the most sacred spots in the world, the place where Abraham was ready tooffer up Isaac; where David sacrificed to stay the plague and where Solomon built his great temple.
