THE ACCEPTED DESIGN FOR THE GEORGE WASHINGTON MEMORIAL HALL The George Washington Memorial Hall will be built on the site of the old Pennsylvania Railroad station, which for many years marred the beauty of the Mall at Sixth Street, and which was the scene of the assassination of President Garfield. It is expected tocost $2,000,000, and tohave its maintenance provided for by an endowment fund of $500,000. In architecture it will conform closely to its neighbors bordering the Mall, theNational Museum and the Department of Agriculture. Tracy and Swartwout are the architects.
