The grass locust hath stripped itself and flown away! . . . Which settle in thehedges onacold day. The sun hath broken forth and they are in flight" (Nahum 3: i7. The Emphasised Bible, Rotherham). We have beforenoted how thelocusts hide from thecold in loose stone walls. The Hebrew word here rendered, "hedge," is "gedarah," identically the same as the present Arabic name for these rubble walls, as shown in the picture.
