Photograph byHiram Bingham SCHOOL CHILDREN OE PUCYURA Nearly all the children are of mixed Spanish and Indian ancestry. They live in houses like thoseinthe background, and others notsogood. The children in the picture belong to the wealthiest residents of the vicinity. They are not dressed upfor thespecial occasion; infact, noteven the teacher knew the picture was to be taken until a few minutes previous. This is the only school within aradius ofnearly fifty miles, and many of the youngsters live so far away that they are obliged to board in the village.
