A BULLOCK-DRAWN LOGGING WAGON: NEW SOUTH WALES They tell many a story about bullock drivers in Australia. Usually their language to the soldiering ox is about as sharp as the crack of their "black-snake" whips. But once a "bullocky," swinging his whip and preparing a whole machine-gun load of verbal shots to accompany its lash, perceived the mail-coach coming, and a clerical hat on the front seat. The whip dropped and the "bullocky" coughed politely, "Ahem, Strawberry, proceed." And to his obvious astonishment Strawberry did as he was told.
