Here's the History shows us that wars have generally resulted in great changes of political boundaries, thereby making all maps and atlases of the re gions involved out of date and useless. The present European conflict may even exceed all previous wars in these respects, but it has met its Waterloo in one particular-an atlas that it cannot antiquate. This is Hammond's 1917 Self-Revising Comprehensive Atlas otheWorld It is the unique "self-revising" feature that permits this atlas to defy the war and makes it an atlas of tomorrow as well as of today. In each atlas is a cer tificate entitling the owner to a sixteen-page supple ment of maps of the countries affected, showing the new boundaries as determined by the peace treaties, to be mailed within sixty days after the results of same are known. This supplement will bring your atlas up to date and give you maps showing Europe before and after the war in one complete volume. Now, as never before, you need a good atlas. In telligent understanding of momentous, history making events, which crowd the newspapers every day, is impossible without up-to-date large scale maps at hand for frequent use. The Comprehensive contains special war maps of the several European frontiers, so that a clear conception of the Great War may be had, and the large scale individual maps of the States, Canadian Provinces, and all other portions of the World can be consulted profitably every day. A New Idea In Atlas-Making Hammond's Comprehensive Atlas of the World is a compact, octavo volume, convenient to handle, hand somely bound in genuine flexible leather. It overcomes the objections to ordinary large, flat, unwieldly atlases. It will ornament a library table or fit in your bookcase shelf. There are 512 pages in this book, 256 of which are maps, beautifully printed in colors. Each map occupies two, four, six, or eight pages, as required, thus achieving the long-sought ideal in atlas-making - large scale maps in a practical book of / handy size, 9% x 6% x 1% inches. / / N.G.M. 50 PER CENT DISCOUNT TO GEOGRAPHIC READERS / De.1916 In order to get quick and favorable publicity for this 1917 Self-Revising Atlas, we offer it to / C.S.Hammcnd&Co. you at $2.50, post-paid, which is 50 per cent discount from list price.
