In a numberof places one may seethethickness ofwhat we may call the floors; or, in other words, the thickness of the stone left between two superimposedrooms. Itseems very thin here, and often it was too thin to bear the weight it was expected to bear. Behind the fragmentary rooms seen herethere arecountless others, invisible because hidden in the earth (see also next page).
