They bear out the assertion that Lake Merritt is becoming increasingly popular with theducks astheyears goby. The upper photograph is the earlier of the two and gives a good idea of the lay of the land. The lower photograph shows themethod offeeding the ducks by scattering whole barley broadcast. Two photographers and several auto loads of interested spectators aretaking advantage ofthe opportunity to study wild ducks at close range.
