Upon being ledinto thetheater tobeburned to death, he was offered his freedom if he would "revile Christ." To this proposal he made the famous reply, "Eighty and sixyears have Iserved Him, and He hath done me no wrong. How can I then speak evil of my King, who hath saved me!"
