Latterly ithas been thehome of the Crown Prince of Austria, and there the Emperor of Austria was entertained. The Bohemian kings were crowned inthe Cathedral ofSt. Vitus, which may be seen overtopping the palace. Herein is the Chapel of St. Wenceslaus, where the insignia ofBohemian kings isdeposited. The Prince of Wales now has an identical crest, with three feathers and the motto "Ich Dien," and tradition hasitthat theblind Bohemian King John dropped it during the Battle of Crecy, where it was found and later adopted by Edward, the Black Prince.
