PIKE (Esox lucius) [upper]; EASTERN PICKEREL (Esox reticulatus)[lower] The Pike of North America is probably not distinct from the Pike of the Old World. Specimens have been taken weighing over forty pounds. The Eastern Pickerel is the largest of our three species. Both Pike and Pickerel are valued as food and game fishes and likethe Muskellunge areexceedingly voracious.
