Women in Paris creations rub elbows with peasants in their native costumes, and crude country carts move through thestreets by the side of modern taxis. The city also enjoys the unenviable reputation of being the wettest in Europe, itsrainfall averaging about 72inches annually. In the background are the mountainous islands which shelter the harbor from the North Sea.
