Interiors of rare beauty now within the means of all \7HEN great-grandfather was a boy, the interior charm of Colonial homes was due in large measure to woodwork finishes of rare beauty-finishes built up with as many as five or six paint coats. Up to a short time ago, such handsome finishes were a luxury that only the wealthy could afford. Today, however, a new flat paint puts similar interior finishes within the reach of all, not only for woodwork but for walls. This new flat paint costs less because fewer coats are required and because it can be ap plied more quickly. It leaves a finish free from brush marks, laps and streaks. It forms a durable, moisture-proof film that becomes a part of the covered surface. It can be washed repeatedly without injury. It can be tinted to any desired color. With it many very beautiful and distinctive effects can easily be obtained, among them two-tone figured finishes, like the one shown above. This new flat paint is made of Dutch Boy white-lead and Dutch Boy flatting oil. White lead, which is the pigment ingredient, is made from the metal, lead.
