Though fairly well treated in their native land, many of them have emigrated to Palestine. From the time of Mohammed until recently, the Yemenite Jews were en tirely isolated from their brothers in other parts of the world (p. 663). TRAINING RAINBOW COLORS TO GEOMETRIC DESIGN No feature of the Dome ofthe Rock or ofthe Mosque el-Aksa ismore striking than the deeply colored windows, their intricate designs patterned in plaster. Here a workman isfinishing awindow frame into which the polychrome glass has been set. To the right isanother pattern. Ex tensive restoration work isnow inprogress. Comparatively few work men are skilled in these pleasing designs.
