SAN ANTONIO GIVES BATS FREE LODGINGS Bats eat mosquitoes; so San Antonio provides these bathouses, from whose slat-shaded windows thousands of bats flutter at dusk, on mosquito hunts. At dawn they fly back, to sleep by day in their dark retreat. Bat guano is also collected from these houses.
